Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween is right around the corner and by now your kids probably have their costumes picked out and are ready to hit the streets to collect some candy. Before you let them head out though, you might want to consider sitting down with them and going over a few safety rules to make sure that they know what is expected of them this Halloween night.

  • Make sure everyone knows how to safely and properly cross the street. The safest option is to stick together and cross with an adult who can ensure there are no cars coming.
  • Carry some flashlights or glow sticks to light your way but also to alert vehicles of where you are.
  • If you are heading out in your own vehicle, make sure you keep your headlights on and keep your eyes open for trick or treaters.
  • Drive five miles per hour under the speed limit to be extra safe.
