Traveling with Your Favorite Holiday Foods

Now that the holidays are upon us, chances are you've received an invite or two to celebrate the season with the people you love the most. This also means that you'll likely be transporting some sweet or savory treats to the site of the holiday party. Of course, you may also need to transport food to local soup kitchens or food pantries so that you can share the goodness of the season with those who are less fortunate. Here are some suggestions for making sure that your food items arrive at their destination in great condition.

One of the first things you should do is place large towels or blankets on the floor of your vehicle. This will provide an extra layer of protection in case you have to stop abruptly while driving.

You should also line the tops of casserole dishes and bowls with foil or plastic wrap before securing the dishes with a lid. You may also want to wrap a large cord or rubber band around the dish to keep the lid from coming off. Happy holidays!
